[AMPS] 230 /115 volts

Dear all,
Thanks for the info that W/VE homes are 230V.
In my ignorance I thought 110/115 was commonly available.
This on account of the molten hairdryers and freaked out guests that
manifest themselves here from time to time.
There must be some other explanation.
