With just idling plate current, the plates would go white hot -- and =
yes, the Bird watt meter indicated 1KW of output.  If you knew this =
fellow, you would not be surprised in the least.

You couldn't talk long with this set up -- the tube plates would melt or =
hams from MHz's away would come up on frequency and complain about the =
buckshot.

As CHR use to say -- "Put the Fire to the Wire"...
