[AMPS] Cleaning aluminum variable capacitors

A caustic soda bath works, too. About 3 ounces of soda to 1.5 pints of hot
water. Quick scrub with a wire brush first. To remove the black deposit
afterwards, dip in dilute  (15%) nitric acid. Or  drop in vinegar and give a rub
over with a pan scrubber.
