Sirs, nobody ever told that's impossible to generate anything, but sub 
harmonic is totally nonsensical and diseducative.
Spurs, this is the term, not subharmonics.
An harmonic is an integral multiple of the fundamental frequency while 
a subharmonic is not an integral divisio of the fundamental, it doesn't 
exist.
Please would an engineer explain (remember what he studied) what's a 
fundamental and what's an harmonic ?
