I dought very much that the Anode is made of pure Tantalum, as this
materiakl is veri brittle in this form.
Also VERY expensive :)

Most of the Tatalum today, (99%) is used in the fabrication of high
capacity, small form factor capacitors.
Pure tantlaum sells for about 125 usd an lb in ingot or cap grade powder.

A pure Tantalum Anode to resist the "white hot" temperature (a bit under
2996 deg. C) should cost around
$1000 :)
