[Amps] Odd Tube type????

Greetings gurus,

The club I belong to just received a generous donation
of quite a bit of ham gear.  Included was an odd
looking (Navy) tube with 701A marked on it.  It has a
4-leaf clover shaped anode and what lookes like a
grid/cathode pair in each 'leaf' of the clover.  5
large pins on the base and a single large pin on the
top.  It's approximately 20%-30% larger than a 4-400. 
Does anyone have a clue what this thing is or have any
data on it?
