[Amps] Preparation for Amp construction

Jim, what component does the shaft drive? I have a bunch of various small
variable caps. If I have something that you can use, I will send it to you.

I have welded steel shafts and gotten them pretty close. I used MIG with
0.023 wire, ground both ends smaller first and applied several short tack
welds with quick cooling after each to protect the component. After I built
it up, I ground it smooth. Like I say..."pretty close". If you can clamp it
in any way, you can get it even closer.
