I have played with several 1 kw plus SS RF generators. I have found that
the transformers are all centered around 13.5 mhz, and very narrow-banded
as Norm says. With a few mods, the power supplies are usually robust enough
to do 1.5 kw on 20 meters, but the other bands are questionable depending
upon the nature of the particular beast you get your hands on.  Most are rated
at 1-1.2 kw continuous CW commercial use. Of course, you will need an output
filter and T-R relays.
