[Amps] HI-POT using a LOPT

Hi agn,

       Has anyone tried making a hi-pot tester from line output transformers. There's a design for a simple HV generator on one of the newsgroups, where the output potential is varied by adjusting the DC power supply. This would make a neat solution IMO, The lower current would perhaps be a help when testing semiconductors. I appreciate lopts sag heavy on loads.
