It never hurts to revisit this topic from time to time, Kevin.
After all the math and fancy measurements are done, one still has to tweak
the input network at full power during final testing. There are too many
variables between the transceiver and the tube socket to allow for a fixed,
"plug-and-play" tuned input network. Even when achieving a 1:1 match,
the Q of the network must be low enough to allow for coverage all across
the band selected.

WARNING TO ALL "NEWBIES" and reminder to all.......
Probably more hams have been killed or seriously injured trying to adjust
a tuned input at full power than by any other scenario. A good friend of
mine was killed while doing a tweak on the input network of a 4-1000A
amp. Please be careful!
