Sad tale. Sounds like you did everything right.I've never had any 
electronic equipment damaged by UPS, and it's not because I haven't shipped 
with them -- a lot.

I wonder what the rate of damage is on things shipped by the major ham 
radio suppliers -- HRO, TT and the like.
