[Amps] 3-500ZG QUERY

Having received conflicting information/advice, thought would post to the reflector for comment....

What should the idling current be for a new matched pair of 3-500ZG in a Drake L7 amp?

At plate volts of 1900 (CW position) I read 40 mA
At plate volts of 2600 (SSB position) I read 100 mA

Is there a problem with this, should it be higher?  More importantly, is there likely to be an issue in the longer term with low current?
