[Amps] Transformer pricing

Manuel,

I went and took a look at the transformer from Ameritron. I can sell 
that transformer for that price using an EI core ($250.00 + S&H). Dahl 
has it listed as 2570 Vac @ 800 mA, ICAS. I can also in a C-core but it 
would have to be made in a quantity to get the price down on the cores. 
That size there would be no problem at all. Actually, I prefer EI cores 
due to heat but if you have a weight problem and can sacrifice for heat, 
a C-core will work. In my opinion, C-cores should be fan cooled unless 
the central core is as large as an EI core, and still the heat is a 
shade higher due to the mass being smaller. I'd have to look up the 
C-core he's using to see what its properties are. I've noticed a lot of 
times he uses the same core for several different amps. Some may be 
overkill because of this and some may be cutting it close on the watt 
rating. This is because he buys a large amount of certain sizes. For a 
one time transformer, I figure the core best suited for the application 
and also generally use a larger C-core. I have another C-core supplier 
to contact yet named Coretran down in Texas. They may have better 
pricing that Magnetic Metals. Their advertising talks about small one 
piece orders. They can also wind the core with other steel types I'd 
specify. Below is a specification from Dahls website for the transformer 
in mention;

If Ameritron said they're CCS, I think one or the other messed up 
somewhere. Thats about a 2000 watt transformer. Maybe Ameritron de-rates 
this down to 1000 watts or so and calls it CCS? Anyhow, let me know when
