There's no shortage of 'parasites', they just mutate into different forms.
When an apps engineer I remember working on a customer's amp which would
hoot given a particular combination of drive and load. The problem was, once
started, not even a copper strap across the base/emitter terminals of the
transistor would stop it! The solution was very simple, but they never
spotted it in the reworked version I did for them. Just a bit of magic...
