[Amps] L7 Question

  Fernando -- The only thoriated tungsten filament tubes that require a 
pre-heat have water-cooled filament support structures.   In Ham 
stations outside Japan, these are fairly rare.  Ordinary tubes like the 
3-500Z  are instant-on.
