My RCA Transmitting Tubes Technical Manual TT-5 states that the 4-250A/5D22: "may be operated in vertical position only, base up or down." RCA also gives the same operating conditions for the 4-400A and the 4-1000A. Wonder how many of these have been mounted upside down. 73, Colin K7FM
