[Amps] which one?

Couldn't resist commenting on this: I am in the middle of rebuilding a
2KD-5 to modernize it: QSK vacuum relay, electronic bias, glitch
protection, etc. I just recently finished doing the same thing to a
Kenwood TL-922. I am really struck by the difference in design and
quality of construction. The Kenwood is very "finished" looking
inside: it looks like it was well thought out and carefully designed.
The Henry almost looks like a homebuilt inside. Even the Rube Goldberg
arrangement on the front panel for the concentric knobs has a homebuilt,
although complex, look to it. I hope it will last another few years,
but plastic gear trains have a finite life. There are a number of
plastic gears in front to drive everything, and a chain arrangement to
drive the bandswitch/input bandswitch. This was the first amp I bought
when I got active again, and I really did not do much research. For
about the same price, I sure like the Kenwood, even in an unmodified
state.

Whichever one you get, spend some time at Rich Measure's amp site.
There is lots of good info about keeping any of the 3-500 amps working
reliably.
