[Amps] AL-80 ... POW!

Isn't there a known nasty choke resonance on this amp in the 17m band? I  
suspect the choke needs replacing, also the fried resistor, as a start.
 
I think a general rule is that amps should only be used on their designed  
frequency bands unless you do some measurements first to look for things like  
choke resonances.
