A: (Opinionated like all Hell);
    No. It's not necessary and you can still operate
    cleanly and efficiently.

    However, when spending $2,800 on a set of tubes
    and knowing that ALC might just one day save
    them from a Stupid Move, it's a worthwhile
    attachment.

    Most operators running ALC connections who
    are conscientious and reasonably aware never
    experience their ALC restricting their signal.

    It's like a good Grid Trip: You might never see it
    work, but if you did, you'd be glad.
