[Amps] AL-80B mods?

Yes softening startup current in rush helps them all. The one and only amp I 
ever built (single 3-500z w/3300v - 1 amp supply) was tuff on 120 line 
voltage and would dim the house lights at turn on. A relay with dropping 
resistor cured that after what seemed like a lot of empirical analysis but I 
had a great time with that amp.

oh ok.. the newer ones have the parasitic board now on top of the tubes... 
As far as inrush I have read that for 1800 volts not needed but I have one 
coming anyway <g>
Seems like one guy said on this list softening the startup helps them all...
