[Amps] AL80B Tube?

Hi, all.  A buddy has a 6 month old Ameritron AL80B.  He emailed me last 
night and detailed the appearance of intermittent 175 mA Ip and negative 
grid current showing up during standby conditions.  A call to Ameritron for 
their thoughts on the issue this morning, he tells me, quickly resulted in a 
new tube being shipped out.

What's up with that?  And, does anyone know what brand of 3-500ZG's  MFJ is 
using these days?
