[Amps] 3 or 4 wire 240v for amp

Mike,

I assume they ran an extra wire (white) for a neutral so you'd have 120 from black-white or red-white. Then 240 from black to red with a regular ground also. Check with a voltmeter from black to white for 120 volts.
