The Alpha 9501 model, on the drawing board, has a built in computer that will respond to suggestions on the Amps reflector, and also has a built in program to automatically check for parasitic oscillations whenever there is any failure, such as switches, rubber feet, fan motors or anything else on the amplifier. A large digital display is programmed to flash "parasitic alert".

Jeff,

With the next new release of Alpha, one shall use his call sign with a
suffix /R.
So the OM can go to the beach while the ROBOT makes DX and or signs in
on planned contest.
Why not print the QSL cards, or send the electronic QSJ to LOTW......
Amazing ....I read in some Amateur revue, ON4KJ/R first Belgian in XXXX
contest, a couple of months later.
Have fun.

"Serial port for remote control"!? We did enter the 21st century quite a

while back.

The Alpha 9500 needs to replace the serial port for remote control with
USB.

    * Very soon PC's won't even have a serial port
o It's called "legacy free", introduced about 2 year ago
    * Serial ports run at 1% the speed of USB
    * USB's fast enough to display peaks in realtime, like Icom-7800
display
    * USB supports plug and play
          o much less setup required
o Plug it in and it starts operating
    * USB's more scalable
    * PC's only have one or two serial ports, very difficult to add more
    * All USB cables fully shielded twisted pairs, much less EMI
    * USB based microprocessors available that support software upgrades
      via USB
