Absolutely WRONG!!!! 

The Alpha amplifiers in the 76, 78, 374, etc series were 
intentionally designed with a choke resonance around 25 
MHz to prevent their use on 27 MHz.  This information 
comes directly from the designer ... one of those "experts" 
you deride and disparage.
