[Amps] Spam from Members of this List ...

Tony,
I agree 100 percent with what you have said and am certain the other describers would also in vast majority. I was unaware that a consequence of joining this list would be to have my ermail address published in the open and I thank you for your time to research and uncover this, it is un-acceptable and I think the moderators should apologize for the personnel who run the group (one and the same?). It is apparently an invasion of privacy that they have started.
I am curious to the subject of your spams as I have recently been receiving an annoying string of emails about laptop computers that has been going on for 2 weeks..
I also think the tendancy to use the moderator's power loosely in placing blame on others is also un-acceptable if in-fact the culprit is their posting of email addresses.
  Thanks again Tony.
  Best Regards,
Mike Kendall (I promise that I did not send an email to you directly)

Regarding SPAM to people on this list...

I have received and continue to receive SPAM to the email address (past
and present) that I use exclusively on this list. The email is NOT
coming from any address that is being used on this list, yet it is
coming directly to my specific amps email address. That is why I change
the email address frequently that I use here and block the old one.

Want to know why?

The reason why is because Contesting Dot Com publishes ALL of our email
addresses IN THE CLEAR on the archive. The spammers collect these email
addresses from the archive without having to sign in or do ANYTHING
except grab them and use them. Don't believe me? Do a Google search on
your specific email address you use on this list. See that your postings
including email addresses are all there.

I personally think it is up to the folks at Contesting Dot Com to take
full responsibility for this problem and do the right thing by taking
steps to insure that list members addresses and preferably ALL HEADERS
are not published in the wild where they can be abused by unnamed and
unreachable SPAMMERS. One option is to REQUIRE signing in by registered
users only to view the archives.

My latest SPAM to this address had the following pertinent headers is
posted below. Note that once your email address is out in the wild, it
can NEVER be fixed. That email address is ruined forever. The only way
to quit receiving that email is to change your address.

Administrator(s), do not be so quick to blame the individuals on this
list for a problem that you have created yourself.

Kindest regards,
Tony King, W4ZT
