Hi Mike,

When I wrote bang on in my comment to Gary, I meant the RCA connectors!
Nothing else.

I tend to disagree with you on that one, with the exception being consumer
electronics. I own a RCA SSB-1K amplifier that is built like a battleship. A
pair of 3-400Z's @ 2800VDC will do a kilowatt all night. This thing weighs
in at about 300lbs and other than a filament voltage problem, (previous
owner induced) it has been flawless. I also own an ET-4336F which was built
for the British during Lend-Lease. I understand allot of these made their
way into 813 amplifiers and the speech amp being a nice guitar amp. The
AR-88 (along with its cousins the CR-88, CR-91 etc), were so good off the
shelf that the military bought them by the gross. Plus, there are plenty
broadcast transmitters out there that were built during the late 40's that
are still on the air 24/7. So I think the "Really Crappy Apparatus" is a
little overstated. I'll climb down off of my soapbox now.

RCA= "Requires Constant Attention." Or: "Really Crappy Apparatus."
