Thank you, Peter.  Interesting ... the Eimac "short form' 
catalog shows the gain to be 4.5.   20 dB would, indeed, 
be worthwhile - particularly with an FT-1000D or Mark V 
available as a driver.  Their "class A" mode would make 
a very clean "more than legal" signal and when switched 
to the normal 200 watts - well ...
