Yes. I blasted an intermittent grid to filament short in a 3-500Z by
connecting it across the car battery, and then rotating while tapping it
with a rubber hammer. As I recall, the restoration lasted quite a while.
If pieces of grid are vaporized away, I assume a minor change in gain
could occur. I used the tube only for CW anyway.
