I've been running an AL-1500 on 160, an Al-1200 on 75 and another AL-1200 on 
40 in the AM mode for 5 years.  No problems.

Rich,  I wish I could but I'm strapped for cash.  I just invested heavily in 
Nichrome-80 ribbon.
