Hi Marv, your memory is pretty good. The 454 does have 6 nuvistors
(including the 2 aged ones)  I had to glance at the manual

  From fuzzy memory, I believe that the 454 had about 6 nuvistors includ=
ing a few in the first vertical amp and the "A" was all transistor.
