Good advice. Isopropyl alcohol is my solvent of choice for general 
use. It will dissolve almost anything, is soluble in both water and 
oil, and is harmless to any plastic I have tried it on so far. It is 
mildly toxic but nothing like MEK or its relatives, so use reasonable caution.
