Experience suggests that the MCTQ (mean calls to QSO) curve
in a big pileup isn't necessarily a linear function of power. In a
big pileup you could end up calling all day at 100 watts, in which
case the KW amplifier may be significantly more energy efficient
than the 100 watt rig. On 160 meters, you may never get a QSO
at 100 watts if the other station has a high noise floor :):)
