Actually, it was no legend! It was great fun .... sort of a contest for
non-contesters.

Yes, there were several amps "with handles" that played there. But the
winner was almost ALWAYS determined by propagation, not power.

The targeted cities list was mostly due to disputes with the folks three kc
up the  band.

I have pics of the net control stations amp on my web site, but it seems to
be down this morning.

Have any of you guys ever heard the legend of "Gator Stakes" and the FCC's
"Targeted Cities List"? There was some Serious power being run on 75
