The Peter Dahl replacement transformer for the Alpha 87A has a 2050-Vac secondary, which should provide ~2900 Vdc unloaded. The Svetlana datasheet for the 4CX800A gives a maximum plate voltage of 2500.

I have run a 4cx800a at 2500 volts (and 350v on the screen) for 10
years with no problems.
