I know this is *very* off-topic, but it's a good story. It happened 
almost 50 years ago.

My dad and I were watching the World Series on TV (for non-US guys, this 
  to us was like the World Cup is today). He asked me to get him a beer 
from the refrigerator. "Get your own beer, I don't want to miss this", I 
said. He responded, "You ungrateful kids, etc., get out of here."

I went up to my attic shack.  I had just gotten a new Heathkit GDO, and 
I coupled it to a vent pipe that passed through the room. I tuned it 
around 100-200 MHz (Mc. then) until I heard a howl from the TV audio, 
followed by a howl from my dad.

I stuck my head out of the attic door. "I can fix that if you'll let me 
watch the game", I said.

"No," he answered. "It's much simpler. You can fix it or I can fix you."
