[Amps] Ameritron AL-811H low o/p...more details

I start off with a few watts of drive...dip the grid, tune for maximum 
smoke then incrementally  bump up the drive and repeat...
The 8877 amp that I just built for 2m tunes up just fine like that. Is 
there a different procedure for the HF/ the 811A's ?
