[Amps] How best to reduce filament voltage?

Ron,
A 3-500 takes 15 amps, right?
If I do my math right, you need to drop 1 volt.
So a pair of 0.1 ohm resistors in parallel would be about right, pulling 
5.75 watts
each.  I got 'em, if you want 'em.
