[Amps] Ol' AL1500

Hello List :)
I have recently purchased an used AL1500. The original
owner said it has been acquired in 2000 used
for about 10 hours and then put in storage.
It came with two spare CX1500 tubes.

I have two (well, actually three) questions about it:

1) Can I just turn it on and use it or I have to take
some preliminary maintenance steps?

2) Is it possible to modify the amp to bring it in
into the 6m band? If so, would you have a pertinent
link?

3) The spare tubes are brand new, never used, in their
original packaging. If it proves that the tube in the
amp is busted, can I just swap it with a new one or,
again I need to go through some maintenance steps?
