Yes that is correct, after a year or so of abuse on here
  Lou and I met in
person at Dayton and I drank his beer. (Along with two of my NAQRO Club
entourage.) Semper Amplio!

It was a very jovial meeting and I’m glad I made my final trip out to the
flea market to find him.

The meeting quite possibly would have continued until After Closing (or beer
all gone) but a buddy of mine had bought 530 feet of 1 ¼” Heliax and we had
to load it in the back of his SUV.

I estimated the cable at 400# and the spool on top of that. We had a lot of
helpful hams stopping by to assist and I ended up with my fingers under the
spool because the helpful rookies were pushing up the back forcing the front
of the spool (my end of course) down into the SUV floor.

Fortunately the pain subsided within an hour or so. (more beer) and I have
no ill effects remaining, cept a headache. I just love tower work with
people who have no clue
  Result, dead bodies everywhere.

DD purchases? A 10 amp 25uh Gates roller inductor for $35 bucks. Musta
came out of a newer 1KW BC Xmitter. I’ll try and put that in my current
dual 8877 Plasmatron and three 8877 chimneys also for $35 bucks. BIG
SPENDER. OH yeah
I bought a Swan Mark II dual 3-500 amp from one of the
QRO Club guys that rode with me so he could have money for Dayton.

If anybody wants the SWAN make me a decent offer off list
  I used this amp
during my first top ten high power Sweepstakes Phone finish back in what?
86? I finished #8 that year with a broken right hand from hitting the top
of my TS-930 when the T/r relay stuck and finished the test keying the amp
leads taped to my left fingers, while hitting the foot switch with foot and
writing in the log with the right hand the size of a ham hock.

I’ll autograph the Mk II if you want
I’ll be going through it to make sure
everything is AOK probably by the weekend.

I had another thought to build a BWEEPER myself with about 500W and always
have it say 50 below zero. They'd take the things right back.... The guy
would install it and it would read 50 below, pretty funny. That would
prolly neutralize my whole town.

funnier!! Lou
