[Amps] switching power supply for tube amplifier

Someone mentioned that the vibrator might have been the first switching power supply, however I think the rotary spark gap might qualify.  

The advantages of the rotary spark gap is that it eliminates all solid state devices and tubes.  Maintenance is pretty straightforward.  With enough poles and high speed, might be able to get to 20 meters.  

No parasitic suppressors needed - and it is great to break pile ups.
