Hal

Where can we find diagrams and more detail on these systems you describe? They sound quite interesting.

  "Whoa, whoa!

The Load Sharing system uses the Frame Ground
as signal return in most commercial additions.

The test should be conducted from both Positive
and Negative DC output busses of resistance to
the Frame. Anything less than MEGOHMS means
the supply is set up for Integrated Grounding.

Hal, doesn't this apply more to parallel configurations such as with redundant power supplies?

    Hi Tony:

    ... a small correction:

In percents, the tolerance does not change, only in absolute value. As it happens with a little luck the actual voltage can be closer to 48 V than for separate power supplies because you can have higher and lower ones mixed together.

Don't worry too much about having unequal voltages amongst them: ± 1 volt won't make much difference provided they all add to 48 V.

    73 and all the best:

Thanks Alex, that makes more sense.

  Anthony
