[Amps] field day - an illogical spinoff from Linear Amps

There are some who enjoy today's version of field day. I am one of them. I relicensed in late 2003 and participated in my very first field day in '04. The past 2 years, I have set up on a mountain top using a 50 foot military crank-up tower with Yagi antennas for 6 meters, 2 meters and 432 Mhz. For HF, a 75 meter dipole is strung between two tall pine trees. This year, a 40 meter inverted Vee was strung from the tower as well.

Contesting is not the priority here; it's just playing the bands, enjoying the commotion, learning more about radio and just having fun.

Today is the good 'ol day of tomorrow. Don't miss out! See you on field day 2009!
