We used to have a guy here in DeKalb who was running some serious power 
on 40 meters to a rotatable dipole up about 100 feet.  He used a Signal 
One rig to drive his amp and he was way over the legal limit.  His 
transmitter would ring his neighbor's doorbell.  The FCC kept trying to 
catch him, but each time they showed up, he was legal.  He kept himself 
busy building CB amplifiers.  He is no longer with us, but he sure was 
loud when he was!
