The reflective bandpass filter reflects signals in the stop band (poor return loss
in the stopband). The stopband is the inverse of the passband, where the filter
is transmissive. Absorptive filters do exist, but they are not common for ham use
(an absorptive filter absorbs signals in the stopband).
One good way to tune a bandpass filter that is composed of coupled resonators
is Dishal's method. Here's a good link to the approach:
