Bird watching is like DXing.  Most avid bird watchers, like DXer's  keep a 
log of all the birds they see, and if they happen to see a rare bird they  get 
as excited as a ham working a new country.  I can't blame them.  I  am still 
trying for that VU4 bird that I missed twice already.  Darn!
