[Amps] Thoughts on half-wave dipole

I'm from the old school. I use the smallest wire that I need to hold up the
antenna without breaking. I have had a 160 meter dipole between two 100'
high trees that are 400' apart. For that job I used #9 copper clad steel
surplus rail road signal wire. The span was to long for # 12 CC in the New
England winters. I just pruned it with my MFJ to give me the best match on
my desired frequency. The short comment is I pay more attention to the
mechanical parameters than the radiation issues up to a point.

interesting than some of the junk on here.

liking. Some members can take the most ridiculous subject to months of
