A little more realistic-- it is more important that the L7 has 160 meters than if it has 10 meters where a amplifier is not often needed. As I said earlier this is a "collectors" item not, some splattered high dollar egg. Those who do not love drake will have a somewhat lower opinion of its value. A newer more modern unit is a better more logical choice for operating .
If you like Drake equipment and are willing to do the Restoration work as needed then there is no difference. There is litle benifit to sell a working home tested L7 and buy a Ameritron.

The Power supply should be sold with the amplifier as a complete working unit.

Also this unit is in England where these units are even more scarce. This makes the value higher than in the US where they show up every few months. The Units currently on EBay should be considered as non-working. The value is much higher if the unit is in current[this means yesterday] use. There are also several drake lovers web sites with lots of information.

One likely would get more dough selling it on the european ebay rather than the ebay us. One needs to check to be sure. It only costs a little to list a auchion with a high reserve. Let it go and see where it goes. A reserve of $2000 would give lots of actual information at little cost. And you get to do it twice at the same cost.
