[Amps] Keying tl922a

HI All, Sort of a Nube question and I should know the answer to this but figure Ill ask anyway.  

Just aquiring a tl922a is it safe to connect it to the keying relay in my ft1000mp and Orion directly or will I need an amp keyer.  Its been 16 years since I Killed my Brand new IC751a by hooking directly to my sb230 so Im once bitten twice shy.  Figured Id ask and some of you kind people would help me.
