Why would you want to paint it if it will be in a box and not one sees it?  Really,  Why bother?  Dust it off...use some 409 cleaner on it....and be done with it.

Unless, you are like those guys with the hot rods....and you can eat off the engine block.

Is the amp for show or for use?

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply.  If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it.  If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense.  Is Common Sense divine?
