[Amps] HV transformer issue

Thanks again for all the advice gents- problem solved. As a FWIW, I
tried powering the transformer (no load, caps) with the bolts removed, and
of course no heating of the core at all. Next, as an experiment of sorts
tried brass allthread in place of steel (I know, more conductive ;-) and of
course they heated quickly with AC applied. Finally, used teflon tube,
shoulder washers, a few bits of teflon sheet for extra insulation and the
same brass bolts. Viola, no more eddy currents. Bolts cold, and less 60hz
hum too. I only hope the core calculations used to wind this thing were
more carefully done than the assembly.
A final question- anyone know where I can purchase Synthite AC-41 or 43?

Thanks again to all who responded- I learned a lot from this.
